We use online developmental and health questionnaires to help us address any concerns about your child’s health and development. Completing the questionnaire ahead of time also saves you time in the office!
Please download, read and sign our financial policy agreement and privacy notice.
Forms for school, camp or sports will be completed as a courtesy if presented at the time of visit. All other forms will be assessed a $10 fee per form.
Forms that must be completed in less than 3 business days may be assessed an additional $10 rush fee.
Vaccine records will always be provided at the time of a well-child visit for free, but when requested at other times will be assessed a $5 fee.
Only patients who are fully vaccinated per the CDC recommended schedule will be accepted at Briarvista Pediatrics.
Delayed/alternative schedules are not accepted.
For those patients currently delayed, they may discuss a catch-up schedule with Dr. Wexler directly.
New patients without an updated registry in the Georgia Immunization database (GRITS) are required to provide immunization records prior to scheduling their first check-up.
Newborns must have received Vitamin K in the newborn nursery to be accepted as a patient.

As a courtesy to our patients, we will gladly file the forms necessary so that you receive the full benefits of your medical coverage. We ask that you read your insurance policy to be fully aware of any limitations of the benefits provided. If your insurance company denies coverage, or we otherwise do not receive payment 60 days from filing your claim, the amount will then become due and payable by you. Remember that your coverage is a contract between you and your insurance company and/or your employer and your insurance company. Although we will make a good faith effort to assist you in obtaining your benefits, we cannot force your insurance company to pay for the services we have provided to you.
Depending on your insurance policy, a copayment and/or deductible or coinsurance may be required at the time of service. Payment may be made in cash, by check or by credit card. We also accept Health Savings Account (HSA) cards for payment.
Please note that the copayment is a contractual requirement from the insurance company and cannot be written off by the clinic. If you participate in a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) and have not yet paid your deductible in full, it is likely that any non-preventive services will require payment at the time those services are rendered. Coinsurance may apply even after meeting your deductible. Please see Health Insurance 101 for a better explanation of these terms.
We are happy to work with families that prefer to pay directly for services or do not have insurance. For such patients, a time of service discount will be applied to the bill if settled in full on the day of service. This discount does not apply after the day of the visit. The same discount will be applied to any non- covered charges for patients with insurance, if paid at the time of service. This discount can not be applied toward the “patient responsibility” portion of covered charges, as those charges are already discounted through the contract we maintain with your insurer.
Briarvista Pediatrics is committed to making our billing process as simple and easy as possible. We require that all patients provide a credit card on file with our office. We will store your card number is a secure, compliant location separate from the electronic medical record. Credit cards on file can be used to pay copays and other charges at the time of the visit. We will also use the stored credit card for payments toward the patient responsibility after processing the visit with your insurance company, unless you make other arrangements within 13 days of being notified of a balance.
For families who do not wish to leave a credit card on file, you will be obligated to maintain a $50 balance, per child, with the practice. That balance will be used for any unpaid patient responsibility, as outlined above, and will need to be replenished before a member of the family can be seen in the practice again.
Please note that your insurance covers preventative care as a bundled service. If you present to a scheduled check-up and your child is sick, or you’d like to address a chronic issue, we are obligated to file a separate visit code with your insurance plan — just as we would if you brought your child in for that complaint on any other day. As such, your regular copay, deductible, and/or co-insurance amounts will apply and payment will be expected at the time of service.
We are adapting our office procedures as-needed during the Covid-19 pandemic. Please read the details before your next visit.
For your convenience, we are currently offering telemedicine visits whenever possible, even on weekends and holidays.
Visits are by appointment only.
Patients who walk in without a scheduled appointment will be offered the next available slot.
Your “check-in” time is always 10 minutes prior to your appointment time. This is to give you time to update your family’s information and complete any required forms, such as developmental screening tools or cardio risk forms for athletes. Arriving early ensures that Dr. Wexler can see you – and everyone else scheduled that day – on time.
You will receive appointment reminders by text, e-mail, and/or phone calls. All appointments scheduled more than 2 days in advance must be confirmed, or they will be released. Appointments scheduled same or next-day are considered confirmed at the time of booking.
Same-day responses to emails and text messages through one of our secure messaging methods are guaranteed if the message was received by 2pm. Please note, you may be asked to schedule a same-day or next-day appointment to follow-up.
When the office is closed, you have several options. Always call 911 for a true medical emergency. You may want to look here for common answers to common complaints, as well as medication dosing.
Please note that medications will never be called in after hours.
Utilize the nurse line on the back of your health insurance card. This is a free service.
Call our office number and choose the prompt to be connected with the nurse or doctor on call. You may be assessed a $25 fee for utilizing this service for non-urgent issues.
You may also choose the option to leave a message for non-urgent questions or to schedule an appointment. You will receive a call back when the office opens the next business day.
Our free text-messaging service is available daily until 10pm. Your messages will be replied to within one hour. Non-urgent issues may be assessed a $20 fee for utilizing this service.
We always prefer you contact the practice before going to any urgent care or emergency room, as we may be able to save you that trip. However, if your child needs urgent medical treatment, we suggest that you be seen by dedicated pediatric providers such as those at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
Please note that it is your responsibility to know what your insurance covers and what your responsible portion is for each service. Please see Insurance 101 for more details about potential patient responsibilities.
Many plans are actually owned by larger companies, so even if not listed there is a good chance we ARE in-network with your employer based medical insurance. Please call us if you do not see your plan listed.
Please note: The listed accepted insurance plans are all NON-MARKETPLACE plans (they are employer based plans). Please CALL US if you have or are switching to a Marketplace Plan (such as Ambetter or any other non-employer based plan), as our contracts with those plans change frequently. Marketplace plans are subject to a separate financial policy. We do not accept Kaiser.
As of April 1st, 2021, we will no longer be accepting NEW patients with Peachstate, Caresource, or Amerigroup EXCEPT for newborns or siblings of established patients.
Same-day refills are guaranteed if your child meets the criteria below for date of last visit and you call by 12pm for the refill. Separate visit means your child was seen for this complaint alone, not in combination with another complaint or a well-child visit.
Medications can not be changed or dosages adjusted without an in-office visit.
Require a separate visit within the past 90 days.
